Purpose of this blog

I decided to create this blog to make this information / misinformation easily available and shared. It is not my intention to promote nor debase this information nor those who hold it in a special place. I will simply put it here and perhaps illuminate it a bit for those who are interested. I was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stationed in Bolivia in the mid 1980s. A paper was popularly exchanged among the missionaries discussing the symbolism in the Incan artifact called Puerta del Sol (Door of the Sun) situated at the ruins of Tiwanacu.

The paper explaining symbolism of Puerta del Sol (Door of the Sun) popularly attributed to Spencer W. Kimball during his visit to La Paz, Bolivia in 1977

Here is the document in question I have attempted to "clean" it up a bit

Spelled variously as Tiwanacu, Tiwanaku, Tiajuanacu, Tiahuanacu, Tiahuanaco, Ruins of Bolivia & Puerta del Sol, Door of the Sun

My version of the "paper"

I made my own version of the paper in question. It's a little easier on my eyes.

Chasquis Messenger

Image
The name of our mission newsletter was Chasquis and it bore one of the symbols from the Puerta del Sol evoking angelic messengers.
